Europa Conference League Final

Europa Conference League

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) organises the UEFA Europa Conference League, which will be renamed the UEFA Conference League beginning with the 2024–25 season, as an annual club competition for qualifying European football clubs.

The competition, which was first played in the 2021–22 season, is the lower tier of the Europa League, which had its group stage teams cut from 48 to 32. The majority of the teams competing are from lower-ranked UEFA member associations. Ten teams were ousted in the Europa League play-offs, while the remaining teams were chosen through the Europa Conference League qualifiers, hence no teams advanced directly to the group stage. Unless they make the Champions League, the competition's winners are given a spot in the Europa League the following year. Roma won the competition for the first time in 2022 after defeating Feyenoord 1-0 in the championship game. After defeating Fiorentina 2-1 in the 2023 championship game, West Ham United is the current champion.

The prize money collected by the clubs is split into set rewards based on participation and results and variable amounts that rely on the value of their TV market, much like the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

The base fee for Europa Conference League group stage participation for the 2022–23 season is set at €2,940,000. A group victory is worth €500,000, and a tie is worth €166,000. Additionally, each group winner receives €650,000, while each runner-up receives €325,000. Additional bonuses are awarded for making it to the knockout round, including €300,000 for the round of 32, €600,000 for the round of 16, €1,000,000 for the quarterfinals, and €2,000,000 for the semifinals. The winners receive €5,000,000, while the losers receive €3,000,000.

For the Europa Conference League, how do you qualify?

Table of the Premier League. The top four teams in the Premier League at the beginning of the season advance to the Champions League, while teams in fifth place and FA Cup winners advance to the Europa League. The Carabao Cup champions are eligible to play in the Europa Conference League.

What distinguishes the Conference League from the Europa League?

The Europa Conference League was established in 2021 with the intention of providing a platform for teams from 'weaker' nations to compete in Europe; however, teams from the 'top' leagues still take part (for example, the sixth-placed teams from the top four leagues (in England's case, the EFL Cup winners) advance directly to the final qualifying round).

The winner of the Europa Conference will participate in the Champions League.

The winner of the 2023 Europa Conference League will be able to participate in group play of the Europa League. The club will play in the UEFA Champions League the next season, though, if it is successful in earning a spot in the competition by finishing high in its respective local league.

How many attendees of the Europa Conference qualify?

The other ten clubs will be dropped directly from the UEFA Europa League play-offs, leaving a total of 22 teams to qualify for the group stage of the 2023–24 UEFA Europa Conference League. How it functions and when it all occurs are described on UEFA .com.
